A bus will get you there better. From the East side of Manhattan, Alice in Wonderland statue is just to the left of and across 5th Ave. near 79th Street. Almost immediately, enter the park and take the small path to your left. Follow it until you're essentially between what would be 75 and 74th streets if those streets extended into Central Park.
