A great free activity with great views along the way. Steps from Atranti are a bit brutal for the first half but the second half you have an easier option that’s much flatter which we took. Definitel…Full review by 789jessp

We took the bus up to Revello and walked the 1700 stairs down. Had a great time and only one section was steep multi depth rock stairs. Took our time, it was about an hour. Loved Revello!Full review by Robert P

We hiked up the steps from Atrani to Ravello. It was an unbelievable experience and hike. Given that I was also about 90% (I picked up a cold that day before from my husband), I made it all the way u…Full review by Emily G
Once you get to the church square take the far right narrow steps down to the beach cross the beach until you reach some narrow steps back up to the road. Do not follow the road to Amalfi...... Directly opposite is an underground car park cut into the cliffs they also cut a pedestrian tunnel straight into Amalfi avoiding the road.

Thank you for sharing, I will check it out next visit!
Hi. Is there a map available online to locate the path and tunnel? We will be staying in Ravello for a couple of days the first week in October and it sounds like a fun outing. How long did the walk to Amalfi take you?

As another reviewer has said, there are small signposts to help you, but it is pretty straight forward. The map from the tourist office has a couple of routes marked on and a description of what you will see on the way. It took us about an hour to get down
I will be in Sorrento Italy in October. We plan to travel to Amalfi. We are interested in hiking to Ravello, via Atrani. I see you did this. Did you take a local bus back to Amalfi? Is it better to stay in Ravello and hike in the other direction? I am researching trains from Sorrento to either Amalfi or Ravello. How did you get there? Where did you stay? Looking forward to your reply. Kathy Rose
