Wonderful time! We saw many specular fish by the coral. Even saw sea turtles from the boat. Crew was friendly and helpful.Full review by Dreamer19613246287

Hi there, It sounds like you went on the same trip we are planning to do - ours will by by sailboat (catamaran), and says to be 6 hours (1 hour each way sailing). Do you think that is too much time (run out of things to look at / not sure how long we will last sitting on the beach in the broiling sun)? I know it won't be for me, but not sure about my husband. Is there any shade on Buck Island or at Turtle Beach? Thanks for your insight :)

Hey Karen - Our trip by power boat was about 4 hours in length and included about 90 minutes snorkeling on the underwater snorkeling park on the west-end of Buck Island. We then motored to the east-end of the island where we anchored. We spent the time sitting in the light surf at the shoreline and jumping/diving off of the boat. The water is incredibly clear and you can see at least 10-15 down. Also the shore drops off very quickly, you could be 15 feet from the shore and be in 8-10 feet of water. The beach is amazing; fine white sand. The island does include smallish trees and bushes that are about 50 yards from the water so “shade” is available. Also I assume you could hang out on the boat if you wanted. It was a great trip with great guides/crew; very nice/personable. Randy & Jane M
I am coming to St. Croix on a cruise ship on Nov.7,2019 Do you offer any tours to Buck Island for cruisers?
A:
They do you should check here their website, hover over the "tours" section at the top and you will see "Arriving by a cruise ship" with info about what you are asking.
Can you tell me what the views are while snorkeling? Is there coral, plentiful fish, turtles, etc? I love rum as much as the next person but really want a quality snorkel experience with lots to see, not just a few fish. Sadly we are spoiled by other dives in Belize and Hawaii, and now find it hard to find a good location for quality dives. What can you tell us? Many thanks!
A:
the main view is the amazing coral. there were fish but not outstanding. I've snorkle in Hawaii and felt it was a worthwhile experience.
Are you available Christmas Day? Thanks! Kelly and Tom
