The house was absolutely beautiful! I loved all of the colourful tiles and the patterns everywhere. The view from the roof was lovely too! It was interesting to see Gaudí's first house and compare it…Full review by Abi B

Beautiful house (though be aware that some of the internal space is just white walled gallery space) but visit completely spoiled by mean, inflexible staff. We were handed a scrappy looking (like a b…Full review by mrvisit0r

Gaudi’s first house is definitely worth a visit - not only is it gorgeous, but it’s very different from the more famous houses you can visit… but the visit is worth it alone for the various interacti…Full review by Journey59531

I would say 10 am, but not sure.
Q:

A:
Yes, you can buy tickets at the door.
Q:
How long is a guided tour vs going through the house on your own?

We did not take a guided tour, because there are employees in almost every room glad to answer any questions you have and they will stay as long as you have questions. We spent much longer than we thought because there was an exhibit about other architects that I found fascinating and because we asked a lot of questions and then we walked through a second time and we took a lot of pictures. On the other hand, you could breeze through in 15 minutes. We spent perhaps 1.5 - 2 hours. How long depends on your level of interest. My assumption is that someone who goes there is extremely interested. Otherwise, there is no reason to see it. Enjoy yourself.

Casa Vicens vs Casa Battlo? Some friends are coming and I would like to take them to see a Gaudí house, either Casa Batllo or newly opened Casa Vicens. I have been to Casa Batllo already, so I am leaning towards Casa Vicens so I don't have to repeat. However I want my friends to see whichever is more impressive. Can you give some idea as to what can be seen inside Casa Vicens and how it compares to Casa Battlo? Thank you!

They are different. I have visited Casa Battlo and a number of Gaudi's other works in the past (and the works of other Catalan modernista masters like Puig i Cadafalch, Domenech i Montaner). Many of their works are masterpieces in different ways. The earlier works may have different elements of design/styles/techniques that were later further developed in other works. If your friends are first timers to Catalan modernista architecture or Gaudi's works, maybe take them to see Casa Battlo first, if you/they have very little time. I guess you have also seen Sagrada Familia. If you have a bit more time, try visiting Recinte Modernista San Pau (former hospital complex designed by Domenech i Montaner). It will blow your mind. You can also look up information/photos on the internet of the places you have in mind first, and pick the ones you like to go.
