I am looking to visit Skilpad wild flower nature reserve on the 24 & 25 of Aug...did the area get enough rain for us to see a good display of flowers? I need to know if it will be worthwhile or if I must wait for a year with better rainfall.

Not sure yet of Skilpad but have found this place most of the time amazing. Remember the temperature needs to be above 16 deg before the plants open so from 10h00 onwards. Contact the Hotline below for further info. I will be there from 28 Aug so hoping the same for my group. The Namaqualand Flower Route starts about five hours away from Cape Town by car; prime season is from roughly mid-July to September.
