You need a MN State Park Vehicle Permit to enter any MN State Park; however, since the main parking lot at Gooseberry (and Tettegouche) is considered a wayside rest, it is free to park in and to hike any of the park trails. If you plan to drive down into the park though (campground, lakeshore, picnic areas, extra parking, etc.) you will need to purchase a vehicle permit. Dailies are $7 and annuals are $35. Both are good for all MN State Parks.
