How long do you typically spend here? Also how often are the demonstrations. Trying to plan a hawk walk at Ashford Castle for noon or so and wondering if we’d be able to have lunch in Cong and make it to Joyce’s by 2:30 or so. Would we be in time for a sheepdog demonstration?

The demonstration takes about an hour. It will take you about half an hour to get to Joe from Ashford but at this time of year you are better off ringing him to agree/ confirm a time. In …

The demonstration takes about an hour. It will take you about half an hour to get to Joe from Ashford but at this time of year you are better off ringing him to agree/ confirm a time. In Summer time he does his demos at 10, 12, 14 & 16 hours.

It is in the middle of nowhere so no, I doubt there is public transportation. It is very much worth the trip though. A highlight of our vacation.

I believe that the tours run at three fixed times daily (see the website) and when we called we were advised that we need not book in advance for those slots. However there is an email on the site and they are good about responding if you want to be sure or if you have a larger group. Enjoy! You will have a wonderful time.

It's about 3,5 hours of driving if you have a car. No public transport to Joyce County.
