Hi Robert, you've a parking just outside the walled city. I blieve that you can book before arriving. There other places to park but this parking is just 1 minute walking. It would be my first choice. I'm not sure about the name but if I remember correctly it's the Parking Cité off Chemin de Montlegun (near the principal entrance the Porte Narbonnaise). Have fun. There is no entry fee for La Cité, the medieval town of Carcassonne. You enter through the main gate and can wander around at your own pace. There are parking areas nearby or bus shuttle services to the train station and airport. It can get very busy. Most cafees, restaurants and shops open around 9.30-10. It is quite nice to explore it before that as there are less people. You can stay in La Cité if you like. There is a luxury hotel and several bed and breakfasts.
