Great way to see multiple totems and be close to Ketchikan. Our guide Sam was very informative and kind. Loved it, and easy to do on a short cruise port!Full review by madeleineoverturf

Hi Totem Bight is State run and has an admission charge, cant remember how much. There is a collection of of Totem poles and a couple of lodges a lovely quiet place on the shore. No facilities Potlatch Park is next door and has a very small fee. There is complementary coffee. The park has a collection of totem poles, lodges and a selection of vintage cars. There is also a large gift shop here and the staff were so friendly. Toilets also. We spent a couple of hours between them both

The disappointing description of this traveler is describing Saxman Totem Village, not Potlatch Park. Saxman has guests watch a video in the community house, then walk through the rain forest trail and into tribal house for native dancers. Potlatch Park is self-guiding or with tour guide of a native village replicate, carving center and clan house; showcasing an antique firearms collection and antique auto collection (Stanley Steamer) and fabulous gift store. Don't give a poor rating to Potlatch which is FREE to the public; give it to Saxman which charges $5 to the walk-in guests who get grounds only and $$$ for exclusivity, some describe as overrated and disappointing! LHD.

Q:
How old are the oldest totem poles here?
A:
Our guide didn't tell us but since all of the totem poles looked to be in good shape I would say they are not old.
