We are travelling to slovenia in early may and wanting to visit lake bled. We are trying to do it without a vehicle. We want to visit the usual cool spots like vintgar gorge, hike the trail and visit the national park. Is this possible and how would people recommend it?

Well there are buses & trains - not that many, you need to research fully! We visited Lake Bohinj (about 25 km away, just as picturesque as Lake Bled but quieter - so better!) by catching a train from Bled to a village not far from Bohinj and carrying out the last 5km - 6km by ebike. There are at least two bike hire shops next to Lake Bled but pre-book your bikes onto the train journey as one inspector told us he is only allowed six bikes on each train??

The train station is miles away from Bled. You still need to catch a bus from the station. I caught the bus from Ljubliana direct to Bled. About 45 minutes on a pretty route through many villages. It was about 11 euros for a return ticket. The bus station at Ljubliana is opposite the train station.
