I enjoyed this small seaside museum with exhibits on sea life and an active turtle rescue and sanctuary. The tour guides provided a slide presentation and hands-on demonstrations. There is a walkin…Full review by Midwest_Roamer22

This was such a highlight in our Savannah trip. We got to see lots of aquatic animals like fish, sea turtles, jelly fish, starfish, and other types of turtles, too. There's even a space to look throu…Full review by Connector60572272790

I'll be going with a 3 & 5 year old. I was bummed to see that for the price of a walk we can't also check out the Coastal Gallery. So it's one or the other. Which would be better for that age? We've done touch tanks often at our local zoo so that will be fun but not a "wow" factor for us. But is the beach walk too "boring" with talk over young kids' heads? Help on deciding!

I am sorry, I just saw your question..... I haven't been on the beach walk in a very long time but I would definitely do the touch tank. If you ask when you go in when they will have a behind the scenes tour, that would create the "wow" factor for them! I hope this helps and isn't too late.
Is this a for profit zoo/aqaurium/amusement type place or a science/rehabilitation facility that cares for their animals well...? Also any scuba charter ops on Tybee?

Follow on Facebook in summer and fall to watch for turtle next 3xcavation opportunity. 5 days after a turtle nest boils they go to the nest to see if there are any stragglers. There usually are, so you get to see, not touch, a 5 day old baby turtle and escort it on it's trek to the sea. She might also enjoy the marsh walk and beach walk if she is not from around here. Lots of on the spot info. Marsh wslk would be goid to have rubber boots as ut us muddy. She also might be interested in kayak tour. You will usually see dolohins uo close. Most go to little Tybee island where she might see small sharks, crab, fidfler crabs, and shore birds pretty clise.
Is there an activity that would interest my 20yr old college daughter majoring in wildlife biology?? We will be in Tybee july 15 through 20th Thanks

I would say yes. All of the people who work there are marine biologists and love to talk. If she does not do the activities she may just like to talk to the staff. Either way don't miss a stop
