We had such a great time doing the Wanaka widower via Ferrata. This is our 8th one and it was definitely amongst our best. Beautiful location by a waterfall. We highly recommendFull review by Jay S
So after doing the wild thing I love it and would like to get into via ferrata on my own ! Do you guys have a link for a trustable place to by a harness with the carabeaners and helmet? Just looking for the best quality. I read online that there are some that are less safe if the quality is cheaper.

Hi Cheyenne, Thanks for climbing with us and great to hear that you are interested in getting in to Via Ferrata yourself! Depending on where you are from it may be better to purchase gear once you are home as it is quite expensive here in New Zealand and also there are only 2 via ferratas here and they are both commercially run and provide all the gear. We use Edelrid harnesses, helmets and lanyards and really like the quality of these. When purchasing gear definitely go for a reputable climbing brand. I also recommend Petzl and Black Diamond as they have great quality gear and are trusted brands. I hope that helps! All the best with your climbing!!
I would like to know the details of Go Wire package, does it involve bridge cross? I and my fiancé is going to wanaka on end of October, we are not adventurous type but would like to try something light adventurous, is this suitable for us? We would like to experience hanging bridge and frying fog but not like to do rock climbing as it is a bit tough for us.

I think it's worth doing, but it will push you out of your comfort zone a bit if you're afraid of heights. The course is made relatively easy for most people because of the iron, but you do have to follow directions and climb in the way they instruct you so that you stay safe. If heights make you super nervous, this trip might not be for you. However, you don't have to be super fit to do it - rock climbing is drastically more difficult than the Wild Wire as it requires much more balance and strength. This is essentially climbing ladders, which is much easier! Unfortunately, nobody on the internet knows exactly how much this will really scare you, so I'm just doing the best I can to compare it to something like rock climbing... It'll get your blood flowing for sure, but it doesn't require serious physical fitness.

If you are afraid of heights I would probably steer you towards some of the amazing scenic hikes in the area. Wildwire is an amazing and safe adventure, but it does involve climbing straight up a very high cliff. I can not express how much fun my wife and I had and I do not hesitate to recommend Wildwire. You may want to stick to the ground though if you dont like to go up.
