With a flurry of late birdies, Carlota Ciganda held off Hye-Jin Choi and Lexi Thompson to win the 2025 Meijer LPGA Classic.

WASHINGTON — Celine Boutier had seven birdies and three bogeys in a rollercoaster four-under-par 68 on Friday (Saturday in Manila) to join Carlota Ciganda, Choi Hye-jin and Karis Davidson atop the leaderboard midway through the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan.

Minjee Lee is just a shot off the lead in a tie for fifth after shooting a 70 of her own, while fellow Australians Grace Kim, Steph Kyriacou, Cassie Porter and Gabriela Ruffels are all a further shot back in a share of 11th at -6.

Leona Maguire is just outside the cut mark after her opening round at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan. The Cavan native carded a level par 72 on Thursday to sit in a tie for 83rd, eight shots down on leader Mi Hyang Lee of South Korea, whose 64 gives her a one-stroke lead over Australia's Grace Kim.
