The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 will require you to link a Microsoft account to your PlayStation Network account in order to play the game, according to a FAQ on the game’s official website.

Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 requires a Microsoft account in addition to a PSN account. No cross-progression, but PS5 players can access UGC from other platforms. While we already know that former Xbox-exclusive Forza Horizon 5 is headed to the PS5 this spring, some might not know that there are extra requirements in order to play it.

Forza Horizon 5 will be a digital-only release on PS5 on April 29. The lack of a physical release may disappoint fans who prefer owning physical copies.

When Forza Horizon 5 arrives on PlayStation, it will require a Microsoft account to play, it’s been revealed. The game, which will be crossplay on all platforms and contain all of the content from both the Xbox and PC versions of the game, will require an extra account linking process from PlayStation players.

It continues: “On launch of the game, you will be asked to sign-in with your Microsoft account – sometimes referred to as the Xbox Live services that are a part of your Microsoft account – and link it to the PSN account you are currently logged into the PS5 console.”

Forza Horizon 5 offers a welcome bundle to players who purchase the game before its official PS5 launch, but not all fans are impressed.
