The Pentagon’s inspector general has received evidence that the military plans shared from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s Signal account to a group chat earlier this year were taken from a US Central Command document that was marked classified at the time,

The reporting that the information Hegseth is accused of sharing on the chat came from a file marked “SECRET/NOFORN” is at odds with the stance taken by the Trump administration in the aftermath of the incident, that no classified information was divulged.

The classification of this document appears to undercut the Pentagon's repeated defense of Hegseth's sharing of this information before strikes in Yemen.
