Los Angeles is still reeling from January’s deadly wildfires — and with the World Cup soccer championships and the 2028 Olympics on the horizon — Mayor Karen Bass has been urging residents to come together to revitalize LA’s image.

Even as protests against raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement stretched into a fourth day Monday in Los Angeles, city workers began a cleanup of graffiti and other weekend damage across the city.

About 30 people gathered outside the Cedar Rapids Federal Courthouse on Monday in a show of solidarity with the protests in Los Angeles.
