A day after a ceasefire was reached, India says its strikes into the Pakistani-held part of Kashmir and Pakistan last week killed more than 100 militants.

Indian and Pakistani diplomats believe that while the new ceasefire deal over Kashmir was welcome, it will take a lot more to address the long-term distrust between the two countries. Experts from both sides spoke to DW.

India and Pakistan agreed on Saturday to halt the fighting after an alarming escalation, but reports of violence continued.
