Chicago Blackhawks first-round pick Mason West is committed to Michigan State for hockey but has received Division I interest in football.

Edina High School forward posted 27 goals and 49 points in 31 games and is committed to Michigan State University

Another MSU commit was selected in the fifth round with forward Max Heise being taken at pick 150 by the San Jose Sharks. Heise was playing in the BCHL with Penticton, but recently signed to play with the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL.
