A woman is dead and five men are hurt after a shooting late Sunday night amid a large gathering at Minneapolis' Boom Island Park, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

The man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another has been taken into custody, two law enforcement officials said, bringing an end to a nearly two-day search that put the state on edge.

BELLE PLAINE, Minn. (AP) — The man suspected of shooting two Minnesota lawmakers, killing one of them, has been taken into custody, two law enforcement officials said.

A shelter-in-place has been issued for huge part of Minneapolis after a man believed to be impersonating a cop shot two lawmakers and fled. The suspect–who remains at large– is said to be "armed and dangerous".

A shelter-in-place alert was sent out at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning by the Brooklyn Park Police Department after multiple shootings. A suspect in the shooting may be impersonating law enforcement and should not be approached.
