While the main storyline of the series was the battle between the top two NBA MVP candidates, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic, there was a significant reunion that not many people were talking about.

Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spoke on his MVP race with Nuggets All-Star Nikola Jokic after Sunday's 127-103 win. Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 40 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three blocks.

Jokic is the only Nuggets starter with a negative plus/minus, but veteran point guard Russell Westbrook has stepped up in a huge way. The 2016-17 NBA MVP has put the Nuggets on his back for parts of the game, dropped 25 points, two steals, and two blocks on 10-20 shooting from the field.
