The host Florida Panthers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-0, to even their second-round playoff series on Sunday night.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will face the Florida Panthers in Game 4 of this NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup on Sunday at Amerant Bank Arena.
Toronto sent the game to overtime with a third-period equalizer, but the Panthers rebounded and picked up a huge win on home ice. The top seed in the Western Conference, the Winnipeg Jets, also picked up a win at home on Friday to get on the board in their series with the Dallas Stars.
Depending on what happens in Game 5, the Panthers will enter Game 6 at Amerant Bank Arena on Friday either trying to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Final for the third consecutive season or trying to survive and force a decisive Game 7 back in Toronto. Either way, it’ll be a massive game.
After incurring a late penalty against the Florida Panthers Sunday, Toronto Maple Leafs left wing Max Domi will pay the price. Domi is being fined $5,000 by the NHL—the maximum allowable under the league's collective bargaining agreement—for his hit on Panthers center Aleksander Barkov in the closing seconds of Florida's 2–0 second-round Game 4 win.
