Eleven people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday — with six in critical condition — in what a Michigan sheriff said appeared to be a random act.

Chaos unfolded at a Walmart in Michigan after a man burst into the store during a calm shopping afternoon and stabbed 11 people at random, authorities say.

"It honestly made me nervous to go out in public today," Luke said.

A nonprofit group called the SALT Coalition – an acronym for Spiritual Activists Leading Together – has organized an interfaith prayer vigil for those affected by Saturday’s extreme violence at a Walmart store in the up-north Michigan town.

A man armed with a folding knife went on a stabbing spree at a Walmart near Traverse City, Mich., on Saturday afternoon, randomly targeting victims, the authorities said.
