The museum, located at 820 Main St., is dedicated to P.T. Barnum, the Barnum & Bailey circus founder, a former Bridgeport mayor and longtime resident of the Park City.
Barnum Museum P.T. Barnum’s second wife donated the mummy to the museum in 1894, but it wasn’t until 2006 that researchers determined the mummy was the remains of a female priest.
One of Barnum Museum’s popular artifacts was always believed to be the story of an Egyptian priest. But in recent years, the museum found out that wasn’t the case.
