DETROIT -- Before heading their separate ways for the offseason, Detroit Red Wings players held their end-of-season media sessions at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday morning, answering questions about the 2024-25 campaign, their individual performances, raised expectations for next season and much more.

A week after being eliminated from the playoff race for a ninth straight year, the Detroit Red Wings gathered to clean out their lockers and meet with general manager Steve Yzerman and coach Todd McLellan. It's the end game for every team in the NHL, but nobody wants to go through it in mid-April, days after the regular season ended.

When Yzerman took over as the Red Wings' general manager in 2019, his decision brought a lot of hope to the franchise. Yzerman had built the Tampa Bay Lightning into a contender over his time with the team, which resulted in two Stanley Cups following his departure. After six years in Detroit, though, he doesn't have much to show for.
