A man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson has been told he will not face any charges.

An ice hockey player whose skate fatally cut the neck of a fellow player during a match will not face criminal charges, British prosecutors said on Tuesday after a police investigation into the 2023 incident in northern England.

Prosecutors were trying to build a case against a hockey player whose skate sliced the neck of Johnson during a professional game in England in 2023.
