( NewsNation) — Idaho college killing suspect Bryan Kohberger is set to accept a plea deal on Wednesday, when a judge will hear the agreement. Judge Steven Hippler will decide whether to accept the plea agreement, which removes the death penalty in exchange for Kohberger changing his plea to guilty.

Kohberger’s trial was set to start in August and was expected to last more than three months. An attorney for the family of Goncalves confirmed that families of the victims received news of the plea deal in a letter from prosecutors Monday.
