The first modern glass building is coming to Boca Raton’s downtown area since the modification of a more than 30-year-old city ordinance limiting how much glass can be used to construct buildings.

A modern, Lake Tahoe waterfront estate with a six-story glass staircase and massive floor-to-ceiling windows has sold for $31.5 million, according to Corcoran Global Living.

The house is part of 17 iconic floating homes designed by mid-century modern architect Richard Neutra. The contemporary platform house hovers over the Beverly Glen canyon.

At its front entry, the house looks about two-thirds glass and one-third stone. But walk inside and you’re facing all glass, 95%, and all of the view is a forest.
