The driver of a stolen Porsche fatally shot by an NYPD cop in Brooklyn was on federal probation for being part of an interstate car theft ring, police said.

A suspect was killed after a police chase on Tuesday evening ended in an officer-involved shooting in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.

When the driver veered toward one of the officers and nearly hit him, the officer fired a single shot that struck the driver, said Chell. He added that the driver traveled another mile to the Pennsylvania Avenue exit in Starrett City before hitting another NYPD vehicle and stopping.
