In a recent update to its website about its direct sales program for the Switch 2, Nintendo says that due to “the very high demand” for the console, “delivery by June 5 is not guaranteed” and that “your invitation email may arrive after the Nintendo Switch 2 launch.”

Pre-orders are live for Nintendo Switch 2 games in Japan, and there’s a rather concerning note attached to all third-party releases up for order so far. The games are listed as Game-Key Cards, which Nintendo have revealed is the new terminology for games that require a download before play.
