Piglets are born with some teeth called ‘needle’ teeth. They have 28 baby teeth: 12 incisors, 4 canines, and 12 premolars.

Tufts University researchers took material from human and pig teeth and were able to grow a tooth-like structure. They hope their findings could lead to growing living tooth replacements for people.

The farmers went on an exposure trip to the university’s pig farm for familiarising with daily routine practices and activities such as handling, recording of temperature, and needle teeth cutting.
