There's a stereotype about the owners of limited-edition Porsche 911 models, one that's not entirely unfair: an person clad in head-to-toe Porsche-branded clothing, with a car that sits in the garage 99 days out of 100 in avoidance of rain, dirt or hard miles — or, really, any miles at all.

Porsche is preparing to introduce a hybrid-powered version of its off-road-focused 911 Dakar, with a limited-production model expected to debut by the end of 2025. The move marks a significant step for the automaker as it continues to integrate hybrid technology into its performance lineup.
