For the first time in several years, local cities and towns will not see an increase in unrestricted general government aid under the House of Representatives' budget proposal.

While House Democrats opted to freeze UGGA funding in the face of the governor’s modest increase, they also exceeded the Healey administration’s proposed increases for other sources of local aid.
