The Academy announced a new set of rules that will require voting members to have seen all nominated films to qualify to vote in competitive categories.

In a major shift for Oscar voting protocol, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that members will now be required to confirm they've watched all nominated films in a category before being allowed to vote in that race.

"Academy members must now watch all nominated films in each category to be eligible to vote in the final round for the Oscars," the official press release stated. This rule was confirmed on Monday by the group's Board of Governors.
