While Aldrich is young for PGA Tour standards overall he is particularly young relative to South African standards. By earning his win at his current age Aldrich became the youngest winner on Tour ever from South Africa. Previously Garrick Higgo held that mark with a win at the age of 22 back during the 2021 season.

As a grueling playoff unfolded in the Rocket Classic, South Africa's Aldrich Potgieter was determined to have enough pace on what became the final putt Sunday. Potgieter drained an 18-foot birdie putt on the fifth playoff hole to secure his first PGA Tour victory by winning the Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club.

Aldrich Potgieter had five straight birdies to surge into the third-round lead and finished with a 7-under 65 on Saturday for a two-shot edge.
