The Spartans are the lone team in the AP Top 25 with only one player averaging double figures in scoring (Jaden Akins at 13.6) and that’s obviously difficult for opponents to scout and defend.

In the latest AP Top 25 Poll, Tom Izzo has Michigan State ranked seventh in the country. That’s up from one spot the week prior. With that, in the latest predictions for the NCAA Tournament, the Spartans are listed as being one of seven Big Ten teams firmly in the field. That’s on the back of an 18-2 record overall and a 9-0 record in Big Ten play.
