Saturday's final was a rematch of the US Open Final in 2023, where Gauff beat Sabalenka in three sets to win her first major title. Sabalenka came into the French Open Final as the world No. 1 and with plenty of momentum following her win against Iga Świątek in the semifinals.

Coco Gauff thought about writing something in French to address the Roland Garros crowd. But as she didn’t want to jinx her match, she dropped the idea. Gauff has been learning French Open but she hasn’t completely mastered the language.
