Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne has told former Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. members that they will no longer be paid a $75,000 annual salary.

The Golden Globes has terminated its policy of paying $75,000 annual salaries to former members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

There are currently 300 members in the Globes voting body. The $75,000 salaries were laid out in a five-year deal specific to ex-HFPA members who were carried over when a 2023 corporate purchase turned the Golden Globes into a for-profit venture owned by Todd Boehly and Jay Penske’s Penske Media Eldridge,

President Helen Hoehne informed an estimated 50 members that they'd receive severance as the awards show brand aims to do away with the practice of paying its voting body.

The move ends a five year deal that began in June 2023 and affects 50 members who vote on the annual film and TV awards.
