The WBZ Weather Team is highlighting Tuesday as a NEXT Weather Alert day in Massachusetts. This alert is for a combination of heat and humidity as well as a threat for scattered storms fueled by the remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal in the Boston area.

The Boston region is in for sweltering temperatures as this week kicks off before chances of rain and storms appear on and off as the days go on, according to National Weather Service forecasts.

A heat advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 2 a.m. valid between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Passaic and Bergen counties.

On Monday at 1:23 p.m. the National Weather Service released a heat advisory valid for Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Bristol, Plymouth and Barnstable counties.

The NWS Raleigh NC issued a heat advisory at 1:57 a.m. on Tuesday valid between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Richmond County.
