An arctic front has already moved across the rest of Texas, bringing freezing temperatures. Snow, sleet or ice could come as early as Monday night.

Thousands of runners and walkers take to the streets of Houston this Sunday. Temperatures at the starting line will be in the mid-30s but it will feel like the upper-20s with the wind chill. Temperatures will warm to the lower-40s through the morning under sunny skies. It was actually colder last year.

Winter has come, and with it comes the possibility of freezing weather. The National Weather Service forecasts that frigid temperatures with an increasing possibility of snow or sleet could hit the Houston area early this week.

Snow and ice is expected to fall in Houston later this week. Houston Mayor John Whitmire and other staff members urged residents to take steps to prepare for the upcoming winter storm.

HOUSTON - The snow we are expecting on Monday night into Tuesday could be one for the record books. Much of the area is expected to get two to four inches of snow, while some parts could see six to seven inches.

Significant snowfall is possible across Southeast Texas Monday night and Tuesday, leading to impassable roadways.
