Hytale, the ambitious sandbox RPG that was announced nearly seven years ago by Hypixel Studios, has been cancelled. In addition, Hypixel Studios will close later this year. Hypixel Studios CEO Aaron “Noxy” Donaghey posted a letter on X to announce the cancellation of Hytale and closure of his studio. His full statement can be read below.

A former developer at Hypixel Games has placed blame for the cancellation of Hytale squarely at the feet of the studio, not parent company Riot Games.
