Less than a week after she was waived by the Indiana Fever, former Indiana Hoosier Grace Berger has a new WNBA home. Berger, who played for the Hoosiers from 2018-23, was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Lynx on Friday.

The Lynx added guard Grace Berger, claiming her off waivers from Indiana. The seventh overall pick in the 2023 draft, the former University of Indiana star averaged 3.9 points and 1.6 assists in 13.3 minutes in 47 games over two seasons with the Fever.

The Minnesota Lynx claimed former Indiana Fever guard Grace Berger off waivers on Saturday. She averaged 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game in 11 games in 2024.

Berger was originally selected 7th overall in the 2023 WNBA Drafts by the Indiana Fever before being taken from the waivers by the Lynx. She played in two seasons for the Fever, appearing in 48 games. Details about Berger’s acquisition were not disclosed by the Lynx, per team policy.

The former seventh overall pick was waived a week ago by the Indiana Fever and adds depth at the guard position off the bench for the Lynx.

The Lynx, who reached the WNBA Finals last season, should be able to find a way to use Berger in their pursuit of the franchise's fifth WNBA Title. As opposed to the Fever, who have eight guards listed on their official roster, there are only five guards on the Lynx roster.
