The final match of the 2025 SheBelieves Cup is set for Wednesday night in southern California as the United States plays host to Japan to see who will take home the title. Each team comes into the contest with two wins in the tournament, though their outcomes have been different.

Day two of the SheBelieves Cup brought plenty of action as Japan and the United States women's national team stole victories from Colombia and Australia.

A first ever senior international goal for promising young striker Michelle Cooper helped the US Women’s National Team (USWNT) to a 2-1 victory over Australia in the SheBelieves Cup on Sunday, setting up a decisive final-game showdown with Japan.

The U.S. women's national team is undefeated in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup but sit in second place behind Japan with a final game between the two sides on Wednesday. The USWNT will face what is arguably their most difficult opponent this tournament against Japan and a trophy is on the line for SheBelieves Cup final matchday.

The USWNT on Sunday edged Australia 2-1 in the second game of the tournament, holding on after a late goal by the Matildas. Head coach Emma Hayes made several changes to the team that started versus Colombia on Thursday, so it was imperative to get the first goal and maintain a cushion.

The U.S. is 28-5-1 all-time against Australia, beating the Matildas in the group stage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Americans also beat Australia in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics. Where: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, Ariz.)
