“F1” — a new film about a team of Formula One drivers — is drawing fan backlash for sizable cuts that have been made to actress Simone Ashley’s role.

F1 The Movie, which hits US theaters on June 27, 2025, follows the story of retired F1 phenom Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), who returns to the tracks alongside hotshot rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), his teammate who also becomes his “fiercest competition.”
