ABC4 and CW30 have once again partnered with the NAACP-Salt Lake Branch to present Honoring Black History, a 30-minute special celebrating Black History

Half of the soldiers serving at Fort Concho from 1869 to 1885 were African American. The fort will celebrate Buffalo Soldier Heritage Day on Sunday.

This year the theme of Black History Month was African American Labor and speaker Dr. Uzoma Miller focused on the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters. He told about the group and how they were dehumanized to the point where they worked long demanding hours and were forced to all answer to the same name, George.
