Bruin Casey Mittelstadt took the puck away in the Tampa Bay defensive zone and dished to teammate Cole Koepke, who darted in alone on Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy. Koepke attempted to sneak the puck through Vasilevskiy, and an unlucky bounce allowed the puck to find the back of the net 10:32 into the period.

Mittelstadt sprung Cole Koepke and David Pastrnak on a 2-on-1 in the third period. This is a chance for the Minnesota native to resurrect his game. Mittelstadt is plenty talented, but he never really found his fit in Colorado. This season, he had 11 goals and 23 assists in 63 games in Mile High before heading to sea level at the deadline.

Koepke gave Boston a 1-0 lead at 10:32 of the second period when he was credited with a goal after a scramble in front. After Koepke drove to the net and put a backhand through Vasilevskiy’s pads, Tampa Bay forward Oliver Bjorkstrand tried to clear the puck from the crease but knocked it in off of Vasilevskiy's pad.
