The Titans wrapped up their first interviews virtually Friday night with Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant general manager John Spytek. Chad Brinker, the president of football operations for the Titans, is leading the search to replace Ran Carthon, who was fired Tuesday after going 9-25 in his two seasons as GM in Nashville.

The project was approved in 2020, but plans have changed since then to bring a new downtown Knoxville development near the University of Tennessee.

Thomas ran for 871 yards and seven touchdowns this season with the Blue Devils. He played two seasons at New Mexico State before transferring to Duke.

The Titans concluded their brief but well-thought-out GM search by hiring a top AFC executive from one of the league’s superpowers. Tennessee’s search for Ran Carthon’s successor led to the intersection of top-tier BBQ and football.

The Tennessee Titans completed an interview with former Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff for their GM vacancy, the team announced.
