PHILADELPHIA -- Rasmus Ristolainen scored with 26 seconds remaining in overtime and the Philadelphia Flyers extended their point streak to six games with a 2-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday.
Joel Farabee’s goal at 5:21 of the second period was the only scoring through two periods. He fired in a backhand shot from the slot as the Red Wings were scrambling in their zone. The Flyers had the game’s only power play and didn’t convert.
Ristolainen was the OT hero after a move and a loose puck just trickled by Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon on a rush and a deke lost by Owen Tippett in the blue paint. They've had their ups, and definitely their downs, but for right now, the Flyers are hanging in there.
