An open border over the past four years has threatened Border Patrol agents and American communities alike as criminals took advantage of lax security.

In a virtual meeting hosted by the South Dakota Public Education Coalition Wednesday morning — where members expressed concern about Gov. Kristi Noem’s education savings accounts proposal — lobbyist and general counsel for the South Dakota Municipal League, Sam Nelson, reflected on a recent trip to Phoenix, Arizona.
