Injury woes mount for Mavericks as Powell and Edwards exit game in loss to Suns
For Sunday’s game, Dallas suited up nine players, but starter Williams exited with a hamstring injury after playing 24 minutes. Edwards and Dwight Powell suffered head injuries when they collided while going after a loose ball. Both required stitches. Edwards returned. Powell did not.
NBA life can be tough on players, especially when a team is already shorthanded and the injuries begin to pile up.
“I’ve never seen this. Never been on a game where you cannot take someout out to rest them because we had no one to put in. The end of the bench, normally, you can put someone in," Kidd said. "It’s tough. It is what it is, though. Gotta keep pushing forward.”
Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd detailed how he's never seen injury problems like this as a head coach, following Sunday's loss to the Suns.
