No criminal charges will be filed against a fellow ice hockey player arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the 2023 death of NHL player Adam Johnson, prosecutors announced Monday.

Johnson died shortly after his neck had been sliced in a collision with defenseman Matt Petgrave during a game on Oct. 28, 2023.

Matt Petgrave, the hockey player involved in the tragic death of former Pittsburgh Penguin Adam Johnson, will not face criminal charges, British prosecutors said on Tuesday.
